Default US Citizen moving to Canada as fiance/wife - advice needed!

Hi,

My fiance is from the US. We were looking into apply for her
immigration to Canada. I am Canadian, living in Ontario.

Is there any website etc, that might have current wait times, similar
to those for US Immigration?

We have been engaged for the past few months, does anyone know how
long it would take to process her paperwork to have to come to Canada?
What type of a visa would we need to apply for?

Is there a difference between a fiance visa and one for a spouse?

Is it any quicker if we got married either in the US or Canada?

Thanks!

Kevin

There is no fiancée visa anymore.

Your fiancée can only be sponsored as a spouse, common-law partner (if you
are already living together for at least 12 months) or conjugal partner. In
your situation the best route would be to get married first and select one
out of 2 options - sponsoring her while she is abroad or while she is in
Canada. Visit CIC website (www.cic.gc.ca) for all details.

Where you get married is irrelevant. Process may take anywhere from 6 to 12
months.

you can post your question in this group. Lots of member from both the
States and Canada.

as of processing time; check the CIC's website:

As far I am concerned, there is no longer fiance visa to Canada. You
can sponsor through conjugal route, or Common Law from within.

Good Luck!
