Hi all-
I am a native-bornUS citizen residing in Chicago. I qualify w/ 76 points
under the "Skilled" worker category. I would like to immigrate to Canada
and (ideally) settle in Vancouver.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get PR status in the skilled category
for a US citizen? I would like to go via the Provincial Nomination scheme
but have had difficulty finding a job so far.
A couple more questions- how difficult is it to apply w/o letters of
reference from past employers? My past employers are essentially out of
business, but have been w/ my current employer for over 3 yrs.
Finally- is there a way to contact the immigration consultant Andrew Miller?
I seem to recall seeing a pay-per-use number from him in the past.
Thanks again for your help![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Jerry in Chicago
go canucks- win the '04 Stanley Cup.

Entire process may take about 2 years if interview waiver is granted and all
claims are conclusively proven. If interview required then add to it another
7 to 12 or so months. If you have difficulties finding a job in Vancouver
then it seems that what you are looking for or have to offer is not on the
critical labor shortage list, thus no chances for British Columbia's PNP.

Hi Jerry,
Mr. Miller has already answered your questions. I just wanted to add that
your Canucks will have to get past my Devils first!![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I *would* say my Caps, but we all know how badly they suck. I'm a masochist
though - I lived in the D.C. area for 30 of my 33 years, so they were my
home team. The Devils are my #2. The Canucks should be a strong contender.
I've got Center Ice, and I watch the entire league....I'd love to see a New
Jersey/Vancouver SC Final.
Good luck with your PR application. (Sorry to the rest of you - I can never
resist a hockey reference).![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
