Default Update Documents or Not?

Dear All

My friend has received a letter informing her that her file will be
evaluated according the new law. As a result she should update her
documents and pass IELTS on late August. According to recent changes,
now her file will be evaluated based on the old law. Now what should
she do? Should she have IELTS? Should she send the new forms and...?

You introduced confusion in your statement. (old law / new law)

If its under new law than that would be the new 67 point passmark
Update documents means just that.
Any changes in his/her situation since original application should be noted
and the information sent to CIC
e.g. change of address, got married, got divorced you know the regular stuff
in life.

If asked to pass IELTS then they have to do it.

Would suggest she does IELTS, updates anything that has changed and send the
information in

Simple.

You are confused - there are no changes other than reduction of pass mark.
As of now all cases (regardless when submitted) are being assessed under new
law. What you are referring to is only the proposal Minister made, nothing
else.

She should do what she was asked for ASAP - that means new forms, updated
documents, IELTS results and required now documents that were not required
under old law (like for example transcripts in university sealed envelopes).
She must follow current Checklist specific for visa post processing her case
to update her file.
