Default UMI/UCI number?

Am I right in thinking these are one and the same thing? I have completed my medical and have all the paperwork ready to submit for my PR application via my Canadian spouse (common-law).

I'll be posting on the 18th of July as that is one year on from once we have been living together.

Quite exciting.

Cheers for the info in advance.

Peter

I am not the expert here, but I don't think they are the same.

UMI - Unique Medical Identifier
UCI - Universal Case Identifier

You get allocated your UMI when you get your up-front medical (which we did).

AIUI you get your UCI when they acknowledge your application submission or when they approve the sponsor. So I have my wife UMI, still awaiting our UCI.

At least that is my understanding (waits to be shot down.....).

Oh - and of course best of luck with your submission!!

Pretty much, the UMI is what you submit with the application so the CIC can view your medical results.

The UCI is your Unique Client Identifier that you use to track your application or to make queries. It is issued to you by email once the CIC starts processing the application.
