Default UK Car Import into Canada (Nova Scotia)

I have been reading through the various post on this subject and am aware of the 15 year rule. I am looking to import my Suzuki Samurai (> 15yrs old !) into Nova Scotia. I have spoken with Transport Canada and they have confirmed that their is no problem with importing it into the country.

However, can I drive it on the roads in Nova Scotia (what modifications are required by NS)? And will I be able to get insurance for it (or will it be ridiculously expensive)?

I would really appreciate it if anyone has had any experience with this and can provide further insight. Thanks.
