UK Application for PR

Hi,

I am currently putting my application together as Skilled Worker +conjugal partner (+ 5 guinea pigs!) for Permanent Residency to British Columbia via CIC, London, UK. I have downloaded all the forms, etc and will submit shortly. My self-assessment shows 70 points, I am 42 yrs old and have 22 years UK experience in construction (Quantity Surveying).

Has anyone had recent experience of current time line - I saw on London website a notice re: 3 months before acknowledging receipt ?

Also any pit falls or suggestions to ensure delays are minimised ?

Thanks in anticipation .........

Word of advice, make sure you take your time in filling out the forms, there is no point rushing it and then finding out later that you left something out.

Once the forms are gone, its hard to get hold of CHC by fax or phone, as anybody else will tell you. Your 22yrs of experience doesn't mean anything when you get here, the fact that you don't have canadian work experience, would set you back a few steps.

Also you might want to checkout this site, to see how your qualification compares to the canadian equivalent.

Good luck to you

Submitted PR to London 23/11/03 AOR was rec'd 06/02/04, others on this forum sent theirs at the same time, rec'd their AOR at about the same 10-12 week time line.

Ref the application, if you struggle with ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING post a question on here or search back through previous posts.

Specially important to include as much detail as possible, anything to do with employment/jobs, documentary proof etc, and to ensure all documents sent are notarsied copies, apart from police reports which should be originaly only.

Good luck and much patience to you ! Welcome to the 'pending club'.

Rich.
