Default TWP without job offer kind of...

Hi,

Ok quick question, This morning I jsut got a call from an Organisation in alberta offering me a job but the lady has really confused me with what she said to me on the phone.

The lady said to me that they have a position available for me but they will not do anything for the work permit application.

She said I would need to get the forms online and complete the forms and hand it into the local visa office..

But then I said that they would require a job offer letter she said that the organisation does not have the resouces to do anything they hire people from abroad all the time and take people on who have work permits?

I said to her this sounds like that there is no job offer and I am applying for the work permit ? she said I should re do the online application print it off and attached it to the TWP form as a provisional offer ? can this be correct this seems too odd?

You need them to apply for a Labor Market Opinion (or at least supply you with a copy of an open one of they have one) before you can even think about applying for a TWP. What is the position?

Dont some jobs have the LMO pre approved/ waived? But even if its one of the few ones that dont require the LMO Im pretty sure you need a FIRM job offer....

Hi The position was for a Tier 3 I.T support Specialist
I called company up again and explained to them the situation and they refused to process the LMO.

Oh well have to move on to another one.

I think I understand what the employer was thinking.

Certain software occupations do not require an LMO. Tech Support, unfortunately, isn't one of them.

You would still require a written job offer.

I still think the employer is confused though.
