TWP at Point of Entry!!!
Hi All,
Does anyone know how long it takes to get a TWP at POE? Assuming you satisfy all the conditions, are they issued there and then or sent away for processing?
Thanks in Advance,
Simon.

I believe they are issued there and then, providing you have supplied all the required documentation etc.

You need to make sure you don't need a medical or a police check before deciding to apply at POE....

Re: TWP at Point of Entry!!!
Hi
We got our work permits at the POE at Niagara Falls when we first came over. We didn't need medicials or police checks.
They wanted to see the LMO approval, copy of work contract, passports, birth and marriage certificates...the whole works.
we did the "flag poling" into the states and then crossed back over and entered the Canadian immigration office.
We were in there for about 30 minutes....then we paid for the work permits and left with them in our hands. Be prepared for some questioning though...we tend to get grilled each time we come into contact with immigration!!!!
Our children were 16 and 5 and they told us we did not need study permits for them as they were included on my work permit.
Thankfully we have our PR now and never have to go there again
Hope this helps.
Pete

My TWP and an open spousal took 45 minutes at Peace Arch crossing in BC.
