TWP application and childs passport numbers

Just looking at the TWP application and have noticed it asks for passport numbers for spouse and kids, my problem;

Aimee - 8 years old is due to have her picture renewed on hers, so there fore is up until new one is issued

Archie - weeks short of 2 has never had one

Do I jsut not put anything down for their numbers??

NO!

As far as I'm aware everyone needs full passports. Ours were up for renewal next year (including 3 kids) and we had to get them all renewed before sending off the passport application.

It didn't take too long, we had them back in just over a week.

Also check your own passports because if they are up for renewal in the middle of your workpermit then they will only issue the work permit up to the expiry of your passport.

Hi there,

When we applied for our TWP we made sure not to give them any reason to dealy/reject our application. So with passports for your girls I suggest you get onto Embassy and get your childrens' passports renewed and one done for your two year old asap. Remember they cannot travel without a passport so no matter the age everyone needs a passport. You will need a birth certificate to apply for the first passport, if I remember correctly. Get this done before sending in your TWP application. They have a 'fast track' passport option which is costly but we decided to do as we didn't want to hang around waiting for our TWP. Good luck with it!

Totally agree on above posters. In our case we've submitted our childrens passports which will expires in 2011 and didn't renew it. Which means that if our TWP will be approved we'll only get 2 years despite our employers offering 3 years. We'll just sort out their passports in BC and hopefully we could apply for PNP after 3 mos. probation so as not to apply for extended TWP. Good luck

Hi, Is three months the minimum time before one can apply for PR when on a TWP? That is what we have in mind to do...

A friend of ours who have moved to Alberta only gets 1 1/2 yrs. and other friend in BC got 3 years. I guess it varies and also depends on passports expiry hence better to get passports sorted out soon.
