Mainly it's:
-increasing the parents and grandparents cap to 10,000 (from the current 5,000)
-restoring the maximum age for dependents to 22 (currently 19)
-getting rid of condition 51, the two year conditional period for spouses of new permanent residents or spouses in short relationships with their sponsors

But nothing about EE and the work based routes?
Would love it if the employment references could be 5 years instead of 10!

re condition 51... I wonder if that would be removed from existing recent PR's or just any to be approved?

Why would he get rid of condition 51, presume he is in favor of marriage fraud then. That's the reason it was brought about innit?

Very interested to hear that one - Australia has a similar rule, largely to try and prevent immigration fraud. The thought of it being removed over there is a bit of an eye-opener.....

Proposed by a Liberal nuff said
They will also double the budget but nothing said about hiring staff to deal with the backlogs. Why raise the age back up to 22. Last time I checked a 22 yr old is NOT a child. How many 22 yr olds do you know would like to be considered as a child? With the age lock in why would it matter and need to be raised back up?

yup, I have it on my COPR, I don't care, I'd rather it stayed as it will hopefully put off the fake relationships that have to be investigated and take longer to process, adding time to the processing of genuine couples.
