Default Travelling before Perm Residency

Hi All,

We have just recently applied for the Spousal Route and have applied in the UK, (so our application is probably sat somewhere as it can't fly anywhere at the mo). We are hoping to travel to Nova Scotia on the 19th July (tickets booked, only one way at the moment).

So the question I have is, has anyone else done this? gone to Canada on a one way ticket before the visa is granted? I know it's a risk as it may not be granted etc.

What would happen once it's accepted? would I send my passport to London UK and then once it has been sent back to me, then I could maybe go on a short trip to the States and re-enter?

Any advice would be great... many thanks
