We would be moving to Canada in 3 months time. I wish to know how to transfer funds that I
have with me in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to Canada. My bankers in Dubai, Standard
Chartered Bank informed me that they do not have any branches in Canada. Please suggest a
suitable method. Thankyou.

Hi there!
I know someone who opened a Canadian Bank account from the country you are in through Hong
Kong bank. They should be a good bet.

Did you do your own immigration papers or did you go thru a consultant/lawyer?

Actually, you have three choices:
1. Hong Kong Bank
2. Citibank
3. Royal Bank (listed #3 or last choice after getting negative feedback from fellow
immigrants including my own experience)
