Thumbs up Today we finally have our PR Cards

We applied in Feb 2009 and today we finally have our PR cards in hand.

We went though a worrying patch when we landed at Vancouver to validate our visa and gave a friends address in Quebec. We were told we had to give a Canadian address where we could sign for the cards. As we were just landing and staying for two weeks this would have been impossible.

But they were delivered to the address in Quebec they did not even need to be signed for. The cards were then brought to Spain, picked up by another friend then yesterday couriered from Kent to London.. They certainly have been on a journey

Well done, and good luck.

For us, this was when we really got scared /exited Think they call it "the fear of the unknown" up to getting the cards it was all what if. All is good now though.

When you looking to move out of the UK for good?

For me I don't think anything will be real until it happens.. All I know is London it's a big mind stretch

When we applied for our visa my OH worked for another company.. Now his current job is transferring to San Francisco. Where the plan would be to stay for a couple of years and then move to Vancouver.

The difficult thing is we are still waiting for confirmation of his H1B US visa and we are suppose to move there mid September!!!

If he does not get the H1B then we will move to Vancouver as soon as the house is sold.

All this and flying out to SF on Saturday to get married..

Not sure much more could be going on..

Glad life in Canada is working out well for you.. Our trip to Vancouver certainly opened our eyes to a completely different life

Weak attempt at a joke given Quebec's attempts to split for Canada. You wrote (with me removing the context) " we gave a friends address in Quebec. We were told we had to give a Canadian address"

In the same vein when meeting someone who has recently arrived in BC from Quebec it is quite common to (tongue in cheek) welcome them to Canada.
