Everyone here should relax in the knowledge that their cases will almost certainly be accepted. People seem to worry about a few weeks a or month. Many years ago we tried to finish spousal cases within 6 months of receiving the sponsorship documents at the visa office.

Congrats!!
I'm next on the list ....
C'mon Canada - this momma wants to bring her family home! And OMG so grateful that things are moving so much faster these days .. so many people with lives on hold just waiting, hoping, planning for a future they want to make manifest. Great great stuff.

Off-topic: I applied for my British citizenship this morning. The joys of more form-filling, re-filling, re-checking, double-checking, triple-checking... £874 for my troubles (plus £100 for my Life in the UK test, plus £75 for using NCS)... and now it's a waiting game! So I'll just sympathise with everyone else waiting too. :P

Isn't it around $150 for Canadian citizenship?

(I'll then have to spend another £80ish to actually get my British passport, this is only to get recognised as a citizen...)

Not sure for Canadian citizenship... it cost me CAD$1200 to get my Portuguese one 5 years ago as well (I'm really just collecting passports). I'd be shocked if Canadian citizenship was only $150...

Do you speak Portuguese? Living in Toronto I have learned it's the second language so I'm planning to start learning.

I don't speak Portuguese (except for the bad words). My mom was born there, so in 2008 when I decided to move here I went to go sort out my citizenship since having EU citizenship generally was way easier than trying to get my employer to sort out a work visa, and then being tied down with a work visa and all that fun stuff. So I just figured getting the citizenship was way easier. My mom still speaks it, though not very well (moved when she was 8)... most older family members who did speak it have since passed away so she's simply not practicing using it at all. TONS of porkchops around Toronto though!!
(Alternatively, I'll use it as ammunition against my British husband since citizenship for the UK has cost me a total of about £1100... and his will cost him $200... .... .......................)
