Hi,

If my application for immigration has been accepted, how long (max) will I be given
to land in Canada?

How many months a year must I stay in Canada to maintain my PR status?

TY.

Hi Larry,

    >

Permanent residents who leave Canada for more than six months during a 12-month
period may lose their Canadian resident status.

Applicants have one year from the completion of medical examinations to land in
Canada. This typically allows a duration of approximately 6-9 months, from the time
of issuance of landing documents, within which the individual is required to land as
a permanent resident.

At present there is no minimum number of years that one is required to remain in
Canada to retain status. The 183 Day Rule governs this. Additional information on
this topic may be found at Campbell, Cohen's web site at the following URL:

http://canadavisa.com/documents/rrp.htm

Once implemented, Bill C11 will implement a requirement that residents remain
resident in Canada for 2 of 5 years, subject to some exception.

Hi:

Immigrant visas are valid for one year from the date of the medicals. Therefore, you
must land within one year from the date of your medicals.

Canadian permanent residents are permitted to be outside of Canada for 183 days out
of a 12 month period.

Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.

Hi,

Many thanks for all the responses. What happens if I do not land within a year? Will
I be blacklisted, and unable to get approval again?

cheers, Larry

CN Tower and you get a year from the date of your medical in which to land.
