Default Time frame for Passport Request - Buffalo

Hi All,
My interview was waived and asked to submit some documents, medical
reports, ROLF and updated police clearance certificates.

Medicals were sent to Ottawa office on Feb 26th and sent the
documents, ROLF and updated police clearance certificates in the last
week.

Can any one tell me how long would it take to get the passport request
from Buffalo office.

Details
Category: Skilled Professional
AOR : 6 Mar 2003
Initial Assessment : 12 FEB 2004
Medicals Sent : 26 FEB 2004
Docs, ROLF sent : 8 APR 2004

Thanks in advance.

Anywhere between 3 - 5 months to well over a year, depending from your
background, nationality and countries you resided in. Your
background/security check has been initiated after interview waiver and it
may take from few months to more than a year to conclude.

If you would simply browse through past posts here you'll find the same
answer repeated several times a week.

Hi,

I have a very similar timeline. My initial assessment was Feb 20, medicals March 10 and additional documents were sent April 6.

I am hoping everything will be done by the end of the calendar year!! I really can't expect any less - it could even take longer! I am in canada finishing up a degree anyway, so I can't start work till Jan.

The delay can be caused my one or more of any of the following reasons:

1. Your nationality. (Middle Eastern countries, Ex-Soviet and China are among countries that sometimes see delays I think)

2. Countries you have lived in. (Did you spend a year in Saudi Arabia, perhaps?)

3. Groups you belong to (or even if you were in the army, or worked for the government).

4. A number of other criteria that will never be revealed to the public.

Thanks every one for your inputs. I am from India and living in USA
for about 6 years now. I never lived in any other country.
Does any one know how long it is taking for background checks for
Indian nationals.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
i applied in feb 2002. AOR May 2003. Medicals sept 2003. Dec 2003 e-client changed to decision made. Still waiting.. I am also Indian national. Stayed in India or USA (five years).

But every case is different so the time line cannot be compared.

best of luck.

I know of an Indian national (in US not Canada) who received PP
request in less than 3 months...80 days flat.. But then there are
those who got it in 4-5 months... Ofcourse you cannot extrapolate from
this data but keep in mind these are for those who have not resided in
any other countries except US and India. Sending the docs and stuff
sooner helps though...
BTW, I am in the same darn boat..
Waiver Feb 9th..
Meds reach (Ottawa?) March 8th
Docs(fbi/pcc/funds/ref letter) reach buffalo March 23rd.
RPRF - April 4th
Waiting... and hoping () to hear in first half of may.

All, I'm expecting to receive assessment letter pretty soon (AOR early Sept/03). What sort of documents that Buffalo ask to submit? Pls elaborate. I know every case is different, however, I believe some docs are pretty generic and always requested by Buffalo RPC.

Second question, I've already submitted clearance from FBI with my initial application. Is Buffalo going to request an updated FBI clearance? How long is an FBI clearance valid for?

Same Situation Medicals and all other Documents sent on April and Waiting for PP. Two Questions though

1. I see that In the forms they all know when the medical was received in ottawa office, How do you find out if my medicals and all the landing fees and any other documents have reached there offices.

2. e-client has not changed since I have submitted all the documents does any one know how long normally it takes?

Aru.

gc and the rest in this thread,

Just curious what does your e-client status show? Does it shows as "Decision Made" or "In Process"?

If it's "In Process" does it reads as the follows

"We started processing your application on <date>

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Medical results have been received. "

I know that the e-client status is not very accurate but Any input will be much appreciated.

Thanks.
