Default For those who have done RCMP police clearance check....

For those of you who have recently done and received results back from the
RCMP police clearance/background check... what was your approximate
processing time from time you sent off fingerprints till the time you
received it back? ... and what class of PR visa application are you
applying for too?

THanks

Default RCMP police clearance check....

Did prints in June-July

Recived letter from Buffalo asking for proof of application for RCMP check in mid September and emailed RCMP to asked what had happened to them. They replied by phone to say they were processed and sent to Buffalo.

This was for PR while on work visa in Canada

I did my fingerprintings in July. And I already forwarded to RCMP in Ottawa.
I didn't know that they will give me back any results about fingerprinting.
I havn't heard anything so far. I thought they (RCMP) will forward my
results directly to Buffalo and I won't get the results back. Am I right??

PS. Independent immigration, Buffalo, applied Jan 2002.

I believe for independent immigration, it is forwarded to Buffalo, but in my
wife's case, it is a family class sponsor PR visa, and the results will be
sent back to her as it stated on the Police forms, and it will be forwarded
to RCMP by her.

Hi,

I have sent in my fingerprints to Ottawa on May 29th and they entered the info into system on June 6th.

When I wrote them an email about the status on Sept 11th, they said, it will take more than 90 days. (Which is more than 90 days already)

When I emailed them today, 1st October, they said, it is taking more than 150 days now a days.

I do not understand them.

I completely understand your dismay. I too am in a similar situation as you.
Before my wife submitted her RCMP prints for evaluation in July, it was said
that it would take about 120 days from the day the prints were entered into
the database system. I emailed them in September again to confirm receipt,
and they said it would take 150 days then... PLUS 4-6 weeks before the
prints are entered into the system from day of receipt. Talk about an
inefficient system. Either they are using the bare essentials for resources
or... who knows.

Hi,
Today, I heard that RCMP is no longer giving any information via email but only saying standard reply which is 150 days thing.
If any body hears differently, please post on this thread, it will be good.
Thanks,
Bye

How did you hear about that? From email or from actually talking to someone?
