Applied under conjugal in Ontario Canada April 8/03, received approval
for sponsership letter dated April 25/03 and also stated fiances files
sent to Buffalo, fiance received letter from Buffalo dated May 21/03
stating files received, fiance received letter dated June 12/03
stating "initial assessement complete", interview not required but
they reserve the right to change their mind at a later date, medical
not applicable-as it was submitted with application as per newer
procedure, box also checked stating no further documentation required.
Fees were paid up front back in April as well as police/FBI background
checks submitted. We married on July 18/03 and faxed a copy of the
Marraige License the following week. We have heard nothing from
Buffalo since June. Contacted local/provincial members of parlament
and Canadian immigration in Ontario and was advised that 1 year to 18
months is not an unusual amount of time to process a family class
application....YIKES.

So like the rest of you we sit and wait at the mercy of the Canadian
Consulate General in Buffalo until they wade through the stacks of
applications and get to ours.

Best wishes for all.

Vern, how long did they take to fax you a note?

I am asking because Buffalo asked for a police certificate that I had already submitted with my application. I sent them a registered letter, asking for clarification and received no reply. 1.5 months later I faxed them, again no reply. (In the meantime, I am getting another certificate). I am just curious as to how long they can take to reply to faxes or letters.

Thanks!

Buffalo still havn't replied to my fax either after I sent them proof of application for RCMP certificate. I suggest you email/phone RCMP and ask them if they will resend clearance to Buffalo - might work?

What did you send as the proof that you have requested RCMP clearance?
And you have mentioned that the RCMP sent your report already, how many days they took?
Thank you

Just sent receipt for payment to local police station for the fingerprinting. If you've lost them just go back and ask for new receipts.

And we took figerprints May I think so that will be around 4 months. Our local RCMP bobbies reckon its taking 5 months now

My eclient changed to add
"received medicals"
today
