For those sponsoring spouse, did you send original Marriage certificate or notorized copy?
We just had a request from CIC in Manila for an original or officially
certified marriage certificate for my wife's spousal sponsored PR visa from
abroad. I sent a photocopy of our certificate in our package and I guess it
is not enough.
Did those of you who went through the spousal sponsored send an original
copy of your marriage certificate or an officially certified marriage
certificate? Is the officially certified marriage certificate a notorized
photocopy?
When I send a copy to Manila, what should I include/attach with the letter
so that it will not be lost and can be traced to my application package?
After the application is done, will they send it back?

I have sponsored from the U.K. and I just sent copies as per the instructions. The only original documents that I had to send were the police certificates.

I have sponsored from the U.K. and I just sent copies as per the instructions. The only original documents that I had to send were the police certificates.

We sent an original marriage certificate. (but as you know from our
speaking before, I'm an inland applicant, not overseas).
I just checked the Document Checklist for inland spouse sponsorship, and it
lists the marriage certificate under the section entitled, "photocopies (or
originals when indicated)." It just says "marriage certificate" under the
listing for "both of you." It doesn't say it needs to be original. I
thought I remember the applicant guide saying that though.
I just figured that if I was applying for immigration on the basis of being
a spouse, that I should probably put an original marriage certificate in the
application package.
When you send the marriage certificate, make sure you include the client
number or file number. It should be listed on the letter you received
asking for the additional information. I would probably also include a copy
of their letter, and a cover letter of my own, but then, I'm paranoid about
things getting lost.

I sent my original, after I received my AIP they sent the orginal back
with a note saying they took a copy for their records.

If the Embassy asked for the Original just give it to them, no point in
questioning as this will only delay your application
If they ask for your underwear just pack it and send it.

questioning as this will only delay your application
If they ask for your underwear just pack it and send it.
