I am a Canadian and my wife is a land immgrant of Canada, we both are working in US. We have been paying Canaidan tax for the last few years until we recently find out we could have been filed as a non-resident, so we are trying to figure out whether we are qulified to file as non-resident for our next year tax.
Since my wife is still a land immigrant, are we still qualify to file as a non-resident?
Thanks for any help

Well, you might have been able to, although it's now questionable as to
whether your wife is still a landed immigrant in Canada ... you'll want
to check that out with some real timing numbers.
One of the things in the past that was used as evidence that a PR aborad
had not abandoned Canada was paying taxes to Canada. So, you were not
wrong in paying taxes to Canada, although you may want to change now.
