Default Switching from IEC work permit to PNP open work permit

Hey,

I am currently on an IEC work permit which expires on June 20th. I have been approved for BC PNP and my PR application is in progress, and I have received a work permit support letter.

Is it too early for me to flagpole and switch from my IEC work permit to the open work permit for my PR application?

Thanks.

Nope as long as you have the letter and $155.

Hello, I just have a quick question regarding this. Is the work permit issued as 'open'. I always thought they will only Issue a work permit for your nominating employer?

Thanks

It's called a bridging open work permit, you can read more here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/pe.../permanent.asp

Just another quick question.

Can you only apply for a bridging open work permit if you have received the AOR from CIC. (Confirmation that they have received your PR application).

If you have not received this yet, you could only apply for a temporary work permit (with the PNP work permit support letter)? Have I got this right?

Yes, if you just have the PNP nomination approval and support letter then you would receive a closed work permit. If you already have a work permit that is due to expire and you have received 1st stage acceptance (AIP) from CIC then you could apply for a bridging open work permit.

Hope that makes sense.
