Studying on a closed work permit
Does anyone know if I am allowed to study on a closed work permit or do I need to apply for a study permit as well? I was working full time but unfortunately lost my job last September. I have filed a grievance for unfair dismissal which is currently ongoing. . I am a registered Nurse and did make some mistakes but was also treated unfairly.. The college of Registered Nurses in Nova Scotia want me to re-do the Bridging course and then I can practice again. This course is mainly online. Does anyone know if I can do this without a study permit as it is online or do I need to get one? The course takes 14 months to complete and there are practical exams next year. On my closed work permit it states that I am not to study without authorization. However, on IRCC it states you can do distance learning courses without a permit. I'm not sure which to go by and am having trouble getting in contact with IRCC..

Foreign nationals are required to obtain a study permit for engaging in academic, professional, vocational or other education or training that is more than 6 months in duration at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
When does your work permit expire?

Re: Studying on a closed work permit
My work permit expires on July 20th 2022. The problem is that the Registered Nurses Professional Development centre (RNPDC) is not a Designated Learning Instituition (DLI). I first completed this course in 2016 IRCC gave me a one year visitors permit for this reason and said I could complete the course, but not work. RNPDC also say that their course are not eligible for study permits.
