Default Study visa to sponsorship?

Hi all,

After some more advice please (you're a very helpful bunch )

Ok, been in BC for 5 weeks now. I'm on a study permit and have brought my hubby (open work permit) and 2 kids with me.

Anyway, my hubby has a job working in a plastics company and they have said that they will sponsor him. So, I'm wondering what happens next. My study visa is for 2 years, and I pay crazy international student fees. If this company do sponsor him, how will our visa's change, how long will it take and will we become landed immigrants therefore I'll be classed as a domestic student?

My original plan was to study nursing, but as an international student, I couldn't get a place so am studying a different course. I am just wondering if having my hubby sponsored will help me change back to nursing?

Thanks =)

Great that your husband's company will sponsor him, although I think it's unlikely that you'd have PR before the end of your course and be able to switch to local tuition fees tbh.

He can apply for PR either via the FSW program, or the PNP, you can check processing times for both here - Processing times: Permanent Residence — Economic classes

HTH.
