Study Permit for P/T or Distance Learning
My husband is entitled to an OWP as my spouse but he isn't planning on working. He is mainly going to look after our two preschool age children but would like to study a couple of days a week - script writing or self-shooting camera as these would add skills to his CV for when he does return to work.
He is considering distance learning via the OU or a course in Canada where he could attend classes a couple of days a week. Which method do people think is better and do p/t courses exist in Canada?
Can he study either of these routes on his OWP or would he need a study Permit even for a p/t course. Presume he wouldn't for OU in the UK even if based in Canada for duration of the course?
Thanks.

Hi, if the program of study is less than six months a study permit isn't required.
Study permits are not issued for distance learning courses. However, if the program of study is greater than six months and there is an in-Canada Face to face component, then a study permit is required for that portion of the program.
