Default Still waiting

Hi everyone
Does anybody have idea about the timeline of applications of permenent
residence from Pakistan at Buffalo, as I have been waiting now more
than 18 months after medicals done & interview waived,
Any kind of suggestion or information will be highly appreciated.

Greetings,

In your case, it is most likely the background/security check that is taking time.
You should get your CAIPS notes and see how much of that is complete, and how much still remains.

Have you re-done your medicals (they would have expired after 12 months of the first medicals)?

It seems security/background checks for Pakistani and other Middle-Eastern countrys' nationals take a long time (for obvious reasons).

Best Wishes.

Background/security check is something that is done for all applicants
- no way around it.
It is done to verify that whatever you have claimed in your
application is actually true, such as your ceritifications,
degrees/diplomas are genuine, etc.
Also sometimes they check your employment records too to make sure
that you actually worked where you claimed.
Security checks (esp. after 9/11 incidents) is also conducted to
ensure that the applicants is not a potential threat to world peace
and security.

Beyond these definitions, I don't know what else to tell you, other
than to wait patiently.
Your home country has a lot to do with how much time it is taking,
sorry.
You may want to get CAIPS notes to see if there is any information in
there about how much is complete and what remains and when is the next
B/F date.

Best wishes.

Since you have already been told by CHC office that security
clearances are going on, you have nothing to do but wait and hope.

B/F date is usually an entry in your CAIPS file, which indicates the
date when your file will be pulled out of the cold storage and
reviewed again.
It is used to ensure that a file does not end-up in cold storage
indefinetely.
In your case, getting CAIPS notes may not tell you anything
additional, since the officer already told you that security checks
are going on.

There is nothing you can do to expedite that process.

So just sit tight and hope.

Best wishes.
