Staying longer than 6 months
I'm curious. What do you have to do to be able to stay longer than 6 months? Is there another type of tourist visa or do you have to apply for a work permit or PR? This isn't for a grandparent btw.

Hi
1. You apply for an extension as a visitor, with proof that you have sufficient funds to support yourself for your stay.

The Young American went home for the weekend every six months. This went on for, maybe, three years. I then sponsored her on the basis that we'd been living together for that period.

No, you can’t apply to extend status you haven’t yet been given.
