starting a business
If we used starting a business that employs Canadians as our route to live in Canada are you allowed to buy an existing business and how may Canadians must you employ. Sorry if this has been asked before but I have had a search around the wiki link and cant see anything.

There are several provincial programmes too for business owners. Do you have an area in mind?

Thankyou for responses so far. Our daughter and son in law are looking into the possibility of emmigrating to Canada. SIL is in the army and is a male nurse and also a qualified Royal Engineer. My son is flying to Vancouver tomorrow on a Bunac visa, and hubby and I would qualify for Entrepreneurs so we are just in very early stages of gathering information.

You can start a business with a work permit too. No need to find the $ deposits required that the entrepreneur route demands.
I submitted a 5yr business plan that outlined my intentions for creating employment, but there are no rules with a WP that are enforced to ensure you have actually ended up creating jobs.
Just another route to consider for you.
