Default Spouse sponsorship difficulties and wait time!!!

Hi Folks,

My recently migrated friend has told me from Canada that in order to apply for his wife's visa, he needs to be:

- employed first
- need to have a decent income
- and even after that, the process would take atleast 6 months.

If the above statement is true, what if the person ends up getting a job after 6-9 months ???

Don't you think that Canada has made it very tough for newly immigrants to settle down initially in Canada without their spouse, jobs plus adjusting to a new environment !!!

Pls advise if there is a easy and prompt way out for new immigrant to sponsor their wife's etc.

Cheers and bests,
Najeeb.

Had you been married when you first got your PR status you would have applied as a
married couple and entered Canada together. If you came as an independent then
married after you landed then you will have to go through the procedures you are now
experiencing.
