Default spousal work permit question

Hello,

My partner has a WP through his company, I have an open spousal work permit. It looks like my partner is going to have several months off over the summer (his company is asking people to take some time off to save costs).
As my work permit was given alongside his I'm now not sure whether I'm entitled to continue working over this period. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

As long as your partner remains in Canada un/employed then you can continue. It is odd, but CIC never addressed the question. So you are fine.

Hi Jingleby

I have rang immigration and an helpline today to ask the same question amongst other questions and yes as long as your husband is still in the country and you have an open work permit you can still work for the duration of the permit. Hope this helps.
