Default spousal sponsorship question

hy everyone

I looked on wiki regarding spousal sponsorship, I want to ask that if my partner makes this application, is it a must that she has a canadian address and job?>

She received PR and we are about to get married, We were not in common law relationship when she applied.I was hoping to get there same time and would like to know if i would be eligible for this outland application!

Hi,

If she's a PR rather than a citizen, then she has to be living in Canada in order to sponsor you, only citizens can sponsor from outside Canada I'm afraid.

So if she's not currently in Canada then she'll need to move back and settle there before applying to sponsor you. You could either go with her (as a visitor so bear in mind you can't work and won't be eligible for anything like healthcare etc), or wait to move over.

Hope that helps.

The OP's wording makes me curious.

Has the partner landed already or has she just received the PR visa?
