Spousal Sponsorship forms

Right, I'm nearly there with all the forms now, but I'm starting to worry about how much supporting info I need to include. We've been together for 17 years as a couple, living together for 14 years, and married for 9, and have a 10 year old son. So I'm not really expecting any questions about the validity of the relationship.

However, I'm just wondering how many photos and bits of evidence 'normally' go into an application. I've included a photo of us together for nearly every year since we met, some just us, some with our son, some with friends/family. Surely that's enough?

I've got a wedding anniversary card to put in, christmas cards with both our names on, joint mortgage statement...

What else can I put in? Am I overthinking it now?

Overthinking you are married just put in what they ask for.

I think what you've done is fine... given how long you've been together I don't think anyone is going to question the validity, and you've provided some info that shows you haven't just been conveniently married for that amount of time, so I wouldn't worry too much. They purposely don't specify what evidence they're looking for as it's a huge "it depends" - couples applying who have only been together a few years will have a bit more to prove than a couple who have been together for 20!

I think you're good to go with what you have. :)

Prairiechicken, your time together, married and the age of your child mirrors mine exactly at the time I applied...I didn't bother to put anything in other than a photo taken at our wedding...I am sure it will all be fine. Where are you planning to move to?

Thanks MillieF! We are going to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. I started life in Saskatchewan, but we didn't want to go there :D Much more for us on the island!

Feeling very excited actually. All being well, next Christmas we will be in Canada!
