Default Sponsoring my common-law spouse and previous parent sponsorship

In 2007 my ex husband’s parents immigrated to Canada via Family class sponsorship, at the time my ex was just a few $1000 short of meeting the minimum income requirements, so he asked me if I would be a Co-sponsor (which I did), we got divorced about 4 years ago and I now live with my new common law who is currently here as a student on a study permit for the next 3 years.

I would like to sponsor new partner - My question is how would my previous co-sponsorship undertaking affect me sponsoring my new spouse?

1. As your sponsorship is still in effect, as long as your ex in-laws have not claimed social assistance, it won't effect a new sponsorship.
