Default Sponsoring an independent child?

My son 20yo is keen to go to Canada.
His father lives there and has permanent residence.
Can he sponsor him? What is involved in this?
Also my son has PR visa for Australia, obtained through me, though we are still in UK at present.
Will this affect him applying for residence in Canada.
Any advice welcomed.
Thanks

Was the son declared on the father's Canadian migration application and did he do medicals?

He was declared on his father's application I'm sure but he didn't do medicals.

If he didn't do the medicals, then he is out of luck.

That only gives him a 1 year work permit, with his age, I doubt that he has completed a degree or apprenticeship (I could be wrong) but if not it is very unlikely that he would qualify as a skilled worker for PR after the Bunac is complete.

He left school a year and a half ago and has been working in airport security since.
He seemed to think that he could be sponsored as he is under 22.
Is there any other visa that would allow him to work over there?

Normally yes, but you are saying he didn't do medicals. That normally means exclusion from the Family Class.

Did father sign a form to that effect with CIC - or not?

Thanks for your help.
This was quite a few years ago, his father and I had been seperated for quite some time.
I was not involved at all in his immigration process so I'm not sure if he signed anything.
According to my son , his dad has told him that he should be able to sponsor him without any problems.
