Default Sponsor Other Relatives?

Morning...was just reading 'Sponsor other Relatives' on CIC website and just wondered if someone else could clarify. It states under the 'Who you can Sponsor' heading that you can sponsor a relative of any age but further down I got lost in translation where it talks about 'as long as not eligible for sponsorship under family class' and 'Who you cannot sponsor'. Can I sponsor a son of over 25? Here is the link Determine your eligibility – Sponsor your eligible relatives Thanks folks !

Your son, being over the age of 19, would not count as a member of the family class unless "they have depended substantially on their parents for financial support since before the age of 19 and are unable to be financially self-supporting because of a mental or physical condition".

Notice – Changes to the definition of a dependent child

You would only be able to sponsor a relative (including your son) if you had no other living relatives in Canada what so ever. However, it does specifically say on the link you gave that 'You cannot sponsor other relatives, such as brothers and sisters over 18, or adult children who support themselves financially. If they apply to immigrate under the Skilled Worker Class, they may get extra points for having a relative in Canada.'

Sorry.

1. Not quite correct. You can't sponsor any other relative, if you are married, have children residing in Canada, your parents are still alive, and you have a brother/sister, Aunt/Uncle, Niece/Nephew residing in Canada.
