My husband joined the CF from the RN, after he did an exchange job here for 2 years.
The application was a nightmare, but we got here in the end and he managed to keep his rank etc.
You do not need proof of funds if you are going into the military with a post to move over to. We opened an HSBC account and his gratuity went in there. When we bought a house we moved it over and paid a small fee but no tax.
Having said that, my husband was at a meeting this week and they said they are stopping the overseas applications across the board for the CF as they are up to maximum numbers.
So you need to be quick.
