Default Skilled worker, retroactive

If I apply as skilled worker now, and in 2005. Canada decides
to scrap the skilled worker program, will my application become
void due to retroactivity?

Default Re: Skilled worker, retroactive

Law clearly states that applicant must meet all selection criteria in force
at the time of application and at the time visa is to be issued. But the
same law includes Skilled Workers class. In order to eliminate Skilled
Workers class (highly unlikely) the law in itself would have to be changed
and such changed law would then have to state what applies to pending
applications. Don't worry - selection criteria and pass mark may change, but
independent immigration will remain in Canada's immigration program.
