Default Sending Bank Statements to CIC for Spousal Sponsorship - black out/not black out?

Hello,

Im gather bank statements to show various transactions for spousal sponsorship proof.

Question - is it acceptable to black out everything but the necessary transactions? what have people done with this before?

I know they need to see proof but with the amount of statements Im sending they can see where I have been and what I have been spending my money on, how much I earn etc etc, it feels very intrusive? Not to mentioned Im sending the gf's statements too?

what are your thoughts? will it look like I have something to hide?

thanks!

Anybody applying under another route (such as Skilled Worker, PNP, etc) has to show bank statements for proof of funds, and I've never heard of anybody blanking stuff out. I certainly didn't anyway.

Maybe a covering letter explaining why you have blacked out certain transactions and that you have highlighted for their ease the relevant transactions and info they require might satisy them.
Worth a try.

As I have no experience on that side of the Operation I will let the OP decide on what they should do next, just thought it might be a viable suggestion.

I thought this might be the case. I have nothing suspious on my account (apart from far too many visits to Tim Hortons ) so ill just leave it unmarked out. I have highlighted and included a cover letter anyway, am doing this for all attachments I include to make everything go as swift as possible!!
