Self-employed category is exclusively for those who are self-employed in cultural field and will make contribution to cultural life of Canada, self-employed professional athletes and farmers who have farming qualifications/experience and will buy farm in Canada.

If person is self-employed in any other field then the only option is skilled workers class. Proving work experience would be a rather complex task in such cases.

Yep - my WP was dependent on investing in and developing a business to create employment for myself.

There's no direct flight from Ottawa to Orlando? Egad... I thought you could easily get to Orlando from anywhere. Good luck on the Newark connection, mate. My wife flies into Newark once in a while, and the flights are never on time.
