Default scores for French

I was wondering how they judge you french proficiency for immigration purposes.

When we filled out the forms I (correctly) stated that I had basic french, having done it to O level some 25 years ago. However, I am now brushing it up and was curious as to the level of proficiency I need to reach to gain extra points (should the points requirement go up before we're assessed). I should add that my husband is the principle applicant, so maybe its irrelevant anyway?

Just wondering..

It's irrelevant what your French language abilities as your husband is the principal applicant. If still interested, CIC use TEF to test French Language Ability, search for that on this forum for more info.
