Default Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP)

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program? i.e. does anyone know if there are any clauses to it? Do you need an immigration consultant or are you able to apply for it yourself?

Not sure what you mean by ‘clauses’? There are obviously eligibility requirements for each stream that have to be met.

But most on the forum just do it themselves, no need to use a consultant unless you have complicated circumstances.

Hi, thanks for responding.

I wanted to know if there are any restrictions i.e. if we move there and live there for 5 years and then after we want to move to another province will this be allowed?

thanks.

Permanent Residents of Canada have the legal right to live and work anywhere in Canada.

If you are sponsored as part of a Provincial Nomination Program, then all the programs would require you to intend to live there at the time you apply. If you apply through a PNP while never intending to make a life there, that would not be eligible. If you intend to live and contribute there, but after some time living in the nominating province you decide that you either cannot make a life for yourself there, or can make a better one elsewhere, that's exercising the rights of a Permanent Resident (or potentially by then, citizen). If you're sponsored by Saskatchewan, but try landing in Vancouver with no onward travel planned, the cell number of Vancouver realtors in your phone, and are being collected by your Vancouver-dwelling relatives, you may face more questions before a decision is made on landing paperwork.

Yep, as said above, if you spent 5 years there then moved, no problem at all. But if you went to SK and then moved on after a short time, you would be at risk of losing your PR - if the province that's sponsored you thinks you never actually intended to settle you, they could revoked your PR for misrepresentation.

So long as you actually want to move to SK, then go for it. If you want to move to another province (or have stronger ties to another province - there was a poster that had his PNP app in MB refused because he'd visited Ontario twice previously), then you'd be better off applying there.

HTH.

I moved to Saskatoon in 2012, applied for SINP myself without a consultant, got approved, got PR.
I wanted to change jobs after getting PR, applied in SK didn't get any responses but had several offers in AB, moved to AB 2016 no issues.

Similar story here, moved to Saskatoon in 2009. the TWP document i got recommended I apply for SINP which i did (you will need your employers help with some of the documentation). Provincial nomination in 2010 and PR in 2011. Worked in SK until 2013 when i was laid off. got a job offer in AB Never had any issue from SK.
