Specifically the Immigration Office request:-

Original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead, and show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company’s Official seal.

Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
• your main responsibilities in each position
• your total annual salary plus benefits
• the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the company
• a business card of the person signing


When you receive these documents, you have to get them signed by a Notary who will confirm that the lettters are as stated and genuine.


I'm sure that some of the other Posters will provide more info on this subject.

As far as I'm aware letters of reference from your employer do not need notarizing by anyone as you must send originals, not photocopies, with your application.

Contracts of Employment was the subject of the original question. These must be notarized by a solicitor, lawyer or Justice of the Peace. You should take your original copies of the contracts of employment to one of the above who will photocopy and notarize them. Don't be suprised when you are asked to pay for this doing.

My spouse and I applied from the US (to Buffalo) and we sent in the
notrized copy of the our reference lettes. I believe the checklist
will clearly state whether or not they want notarized copies or
originals. When filing at Buffalo (USA), the only original documents
required are sealed transcripts. Everything else can be notarized
copies.

BTW, our interview was waived.
