Question Restriction on open work permit

I have an open work permit which has the following work conditions:
1.unless authorised do not work , must not attend any education institution or take any academic profession or vocational training courses
2 must leave Canada by aug 12 2014
3 not authorised to work in 1) child care, 2)primary or secondary school teaching 3) health services field occupation
If I want to open a private day care from my home will I have to get the restriction : not authorised to work in 1) child care
Taken of my visa?
I have called CIC but just get the stupid automated lady!!!

Also I believe that in Calgary you do not need any qualifications to open a private day home as it is a private agreement between you and other parents but I’m not sure whether I need to have the restriction taken of ?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you do otherwise you'll be in breach of the conditions of the visa. You'll need a medical before you can work with kids, you can apply online - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...end-worker.asp

HTH.

You will need the medical exam to work with children.

Good idea! Given that your WP very clearly states that you're not authorised to work with kids, I'd love to know how they think you can!

apparently because its a arrangement between my self and another parent it is classed as baby sitting and not working in child care as it would be a private day home and not a licenced day home so i have no idea i wish there was a number i could call and actually speak to some one instead of gettin the automated voice number and then NEVER getting through to any one !!
I got told this by someone that doesnt work in imigration or anything like that just someone i know

But you'll be getting paid for it right? So you'll be working with children?

Your WP is very clear that you can't do that, it doesn't say 'not authorised to work in child care (unless babysitting in a private home)'. It's all child care that is unauthorised.

It's the same for anybody on a TWP, they can't work with children unless they've had a medical - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...exams-temp.asp

I'd suggest you ignore the person you know that's trying to get you to do something you shouldn't, and listen to Jim (note his signature in his response above!).

HTH, best of luck.

What is a Private Day Home?
A day home or sometimes referred to as private babysitting is a private residence that independently provides care for children. The maximum number of children to be cared for in a private babysitting arrangement is six children under 11 years of which three children can be under two years of age. Parents are responsible for screening and monitoring of private caregivers. No subsidy is available in private babysitting situations. When choosing a private care arrangement parents should be allowed to complete a safety check A day home or sometimes referred to as private babysitting is a private residence that independently provides care for children.. Parents are responsible for screening and monitoring of private caregivers. When choosing a private care arrangement parents should be allowed to complete a safety check of the home, this includes viewing all rooms in the prospective home and the outdoor play area. Parents are encouraged to request both a criminal record check and an Intervention Check for all individuals over the age of 18 years residing in the home they are placing their children. Parents should be able to visit their child unannounced at any time of day. The parent should be permitted to enter the home at drop off and pick-up times.

You won't have done. The info you've given above about childcare has nothing to do with visas, the links above give you the info you need for that side of things.

Apply to change your conditions so that you can work with kids, and you'll be all sorted.

Good luck.

Don't forget to check if your house is zoned for commercial and residential use, also you may need to get police checks done for yourself and any adults residing there over the age of 18, plus you may need public liability insurance, possibly a fire certificate and first aid certificatation as well.

I don't know whether you will need a business licence from the City but you may need to get a Home Based Child Care Class 1 Permit from the City of Calgary.

There is some useful info about what tax breaks you can get here: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tg/p134/p134-12e.pdf
