Renewing PR: Declaring Travel History - Even for day trips??
Filling out IMM 5444 (Form here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kit...s/IMM5444E.pdf) to renew my PR card which expires in Nov.
For section 21 (travel history) my question is:
Do I have to declare every trip outside Canada, even if it's a day trip to the US? I'm not sure I can remember every trip over the past 5 years...
The text of the question says:
TRAVEL HISTORY: Have you travelled or lived outside of Canada in the last five (5) years or (if you become a permanent resident less than five years ago, since becoming a permanent resident)? Include ALL absences (including those due to employment, vacations, trips to the United Stages and any other time you left Canada).
Seems pretty self explanatory but logistically it's such a pain to figure out!!

Yes include them all even day trips. If CBSA records show entry / exit history that's not been declared you'll have a problem.

Uh oh. Thanks. I've started working through the stamps in my passport but I can't remember how long I was visiting relatives in the US for.
Is there a way to get this information from CBSA or something? I mean I know they're going to cross-reference it with that anyway!

When I renewed and received my travel history report, many were missing, I just had to do my best at remembering them all, so the report may not contain all travel history.

"If you are renewing or applying for a Permanent Resident Card you do not need to request your Traveller History Report from the CBSA. Checking "Yes" on page 3, section E of the application form allows CIC to collect the report on your behalf."
