Hi guys,
My Canadian PR card expires in Nov 2021, so thought it would be prudent to renew it.
I have also applied for Canadian Citizenship (to be dual with UK) in Jan 2021. I just logged into the system and see I will be invited to take the online citizenship test (16 July) which I guess is good thing!

Question is, I sent my PR renewal application in (May 2021) as I wasn't sure how long Citizenship would take. I sent my docs via registered mail and know it has reached via tracking, however there is no acknowledgement of it being received and process being started by Canadian Immigration (confirmed via email also).

1. Re: Canadian PR card renewal, does one usually get notification (of process being started) or does a new PR card just get sent out?
2. I think I used the ID no on the front of my PR card on the application; I see there is another number on top right, perhaps this could be something?
3. Appreciate my Canadian citizenship seems to be progressing well (perhaps even fast?) - perhaps I will obtain my Citizenship soon (after successful test pass)?

Does anyone have any experience with the above?

You won't normally hear anything until your new PR card notification is sent (i.e. that it's on it's way or you need to collect it), unless there is an issue (such as new photos) or they need more information - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...you-apply.html

Your test has come through quite quickly from the sound of it

I cannot believe how out of order these citizenship applications are. It feels really unfair.

They're processed in order of receipt, but each will take different times to process. You could have your application opened the same day as somebody else’s, but if that other person has a different background to check, more time out of Canada to look in to, etc, then theirs will take much longer than yours. It’s very dependent on how each person applied and how complex their app is, but nobody is queue jumping ahead of somebody that applied earlier.

Logged into the system and it says citizenship test to be taken in May 2021 and other checks in progress but no test notification yet. Also have a PR card renewal application now in because citizenship application was mailed in March 2020, but no movement. Really don't expect a citizenship oath before the end of 2021 at this rate.

Maybe you can contact them to ask. That's actually great news that you were scheduled for May - maybe there was a mixup and if you follow up, it might happen.

So I successfully completed my Citizehship test!

So currently:
Language Skills - in progres
Physical Presence - in progress
Citizenship test - complted
Background verification - completed
Prohibitions - in progress
Citizenship cenermony - not started

Does anyone know if this should be a fairly quick turnaround hereon in from now?
