Default Renewing passport after receiving LOI (IEC)

I want to renew my passport as it expires in September 2014 (I want to do 2 years on the IEC visa and this makes it easier), I have heard it's easier to do it after you get the LOI. Can I expect any problems at POE? If so what can I do to minimize them? I don't want to be sent home

Work permit will only be issued if passport is valid for the duration of the work permit. You can renew your passport prior to coming to Canada after LOI has been issued. As yours expires in Sep 2014 and if looking to get a 2 year or 2 x 1 year IECs you would need to renew it.

Thanks, I thought that was the case! But to be clear that wont set off any alarm bells at the airport? I hear of a lot of young Brits travelling to Canada having problems entering because of complications like this
