Default Renewed passport question

Hello everyone

I'd welcome your advice. We have just renewed our passports as they only had a year or so left on them. However, we renewed them after our application was already underway. As you can see from our timeline, we're at the AOR stage, waiting for "In Process" and medicals etc.

My question is this: at what point and how should we inform the CHC? Do we write to them via snail mail with certified copies of the new passports? Or email them? I read somewhere about a specific form, but can't find anything on the CIC website.

I know we are getting ahead of ourselves, but would welcome any suggestions as to the right way to inform the nice visa officer who will be examining our application with a fine tooth comb...

Thanks in advance!

FF

Send photocopies of the identity page(s) of your new passports and give your file number in a covering letter. It was a very good idea to renew your pports at this time.

Thanks Jim. Your prompt advice is much appreciated! And I'm glad we've done the right thing - I was worried for a mo...

Hi
As Jim says, but we also sent a Case specific e-mail detailing the new passport details as back up. Of course when you are asked for your passports, you just send in the new ones.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you get them soon. Take some comfort in the fact that your 'process' will have been one heck of a lot quicker than ours. We applied Jan 06 and got PPR Feb 10

I can only imagine how your patience has been tried! Every time I want to complain I think about how lucky we are really. Four years is a heck of a long time to have your life on hold...
