Question Renew passport before visa issuing

Hi,

Recently I received medical requests in addition to RPRF and updated copies of passport biopage.

My passport expires after 7 months, and renewing passport could take some extra time as I reside outside my home country.

So I want to submit my current passport to visa office now, meanwhile I will renew my passport so that when the visa office request passport for visa issuing I submit the new passport.

I would like to point out that If renew my passport, then the new passport will have new number.

Is this okay?

Thanks,
A.Q

It is possible that CIC will be ready to issue the COPR before you have the new passport, so that means that it will have an expiry date of your present passport. If you get the new passport prior to the PPR, then send a copy of the bio data pages to the processing office.

Thanks PMM for the clarification.

In this case, I prefer to wait for 2 or 3 weeks in order to renew my passport first, then I will send the new passport along with PR visa fees to the visa office.
I think this will be better.
