Default Regulations For Minors During Residency Process

Simple question. Are minors (17 and 14) permitted to leave Vancouver to visit their father in the UK while the residency process is ongoing.

Yes, of course. What visa are they on though? That will make a difference as to whether they are allowed back in to Canada freely, but they can certainly leave anytime they wish.

They'll need a letter from their mother giving authorisation for them to travel - Canada border agents are particularly hot on requiring that.

HTH.

Authorisation to travel must be taken seriously. I took our children to the UK for a holiday with my wife planning to fly out a few days later to join us. I hadn't given a letter of authorisation to travel from my wife a moments thought so when we came to check in it was Spanish inquisition time!
