Please advise me that wheather Ph.D. research work and or Post Doctoral Research
fellowship/researchexperience could be recognised as a working/job experience. After
complitting my Ph.D. I worked in a company. After getting a Post doctoral fellowship,
I quit my job and doing research in a university. In this case how I shall count my
job experience.

Regards

Dear Dr. Islam:

PhD is an educational programme and is therefore not considered to be a work
experience. Postdoctoral, however, is considered a work experience since it is
essentially a research-based employment and it pays you a monthly salary.

You can count your experience for the time you worked in a company following your PhD
and for your postdoctoral duration. Hope this helps!

Regards, Dew.

Work experience gained during positions of research during post-graduate research
has been presented to immigration officers with success by our office. The work
experience gained during such research most often fits the NOC designations in
question very well (more so than in most cases when the person has been employed
elsewhere). The critical factor regarding whether or not our office would feel that
post-graduate research experience is valid would be whether or not the level of
education during which the research was conducted was in excess of that required to
qualify for that position according to the NOC (National Occupational
Classification) manual.

Under the proposed Regulations, the same requirements regarding education/training
will not exist. This may facilitate the assessment of post-graduate research work.
