Default Receiving new PR card after approval

I recently applied for my PR card to be renewed, I checked this week and it had been approved and apparently the card was mailed out on the 31st of October. Nothing has arrived yet - does anyone know how long it should take to get to me? I also changed address while it was being processed which I changed in plenty of time but I'm not convinced that the system updated correctly as I went in subsequently and it had changed back to my old address.

I have a trip to the UK booked for Christmas so I need the PR card for coming back - what are my options if I don't have the card in time?

I would give it another week and then start chasing it up.

I called them up and it was mailed out on the 31st however, they mistakenly sent it to my old address which I updated 3 weeks before they sent it. So not I have to try either get the new owners to mail it on or hope they sent it back to CIC who will then redirect it. However I cannot declare it not received until 6 weeks after the date it was sent. I don't know if I would then need to do a whole new application and be at the back of the line. Do they send PR cards out by registered mail or just regular?

I asked about what I would do if I don't have a new PR card come the end of December when I am travelling and he mentioned a travel document for permanent residents - I looked this up, how can I apply for that when I live here? You have to submit your passport and I will need it to get into the UK on my trip and the rest of the trip wont be long enough to process it surely?

What a nightmare.

PR cards are sent by regular mail (not registered), except for a few which have to be collected in person at a CIC office.

Anecdotal advice on processing time for a prtd in the U.K. seems to be around 5 - 14 days.

That's not going to work then since I'm only going to be there for 10 days and over Christmas.

I'm so annoyed, this is their mistake not mine. I just have to hope that it either gets sent back to cic or the new owners mail it on to me (luckily, my realtor has got in touch).

Pay for mail redirection as quickly as possible?

Not sure how mail redirection will help, it was mailed out almost 2 weeks ago.
